Square Enix reportedly doesn’t have plans for a Final Fantasy 16 day-one patch.
This comes by way of a Game Informer report, which explains that Square Enix is confident with the current Final Fantasy 16 build. In addition, producer Naoki Yoshida feels that games should work as expected on launch, especially since not everyone has access to the internet needed to download a day-one patch.

Now Playing: Final Fantasy 16 Preview
That’s not to say Final Fantasy 16 won’t get updates in the future. The game’s director Hiroshi Takai did confirm that the team is currently searching for bugs, so it’s possible Final Fantasy 16 will receive updates after it launches. Once it’s in the hands of players, bugs will probably be discovered.
Day-one patches are quite common these days, as developers work tirelessly up to a game’s release to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible.
Takai and Yoshida also confirmed that there are no plans for Final Fantasy 16 DLC. “We have no idea if people are going to fall in love with Valisthea and fall in love with Clive’s story and want to see more of the world and more of its characters,” Yoshida said.
Despite this, Final Fantasy 16 will still offer plenty of content and will supposedly take around 80 hours to finish.
Final Fantasy 16 launches exclusively for PS5 on June 22.
