First Fallout TV Series Set Photos Arrive, Check Out The Super-Duper Mart

Behind-the-scenes photos of Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout adaptation have made their way to the internet. Collider got an exclusive set of pics courtesy of a reader, and the photos are fueling further discussion on the show’s commitment to authenticity.

If the new set photos are anything to go by, the production is dedicated to honoring its original inspiration. The Collider-published photos don’t show any of the actors or crew, but a location–the Super-Duper Mart, or grocery store chain that made its first appearance in Fallout 3. Although the architecture doesn’t quite match up with the store as it appears in Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, the logo, dilapidated look of the building, and the rusted-out cars sure do. Previously, the Staten Island location was a ShopRite.

Production on Fallout began in late June throughout New York City. Amazon and Bethesda have remained fairly quiet about what the show will have in store, though an impressive cast has taken shape this year including Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Aaron Moten, Ella Purnell, and Walton Goggins. Back in 2021, executive producer Lisa Joy (Westworld) offered a small tease on the series’ planned tone, saying it’s “just a gonzo, crazy, funny, adventure and a mindf**k like none you’ve ever seen before.”

The Fallout TV series is one of a handful of upcoming video game productions in the works at Amazon. Earlier this year, Amazon signed dj2 Entertainment to a first-look deal to create gaming content for Prime Video, including potential adaptations of Life Is Strange and Disco Elysium. Sony’s Uncharted movie also hit theaters last month, while Netflix has just announced a BioShock movie.

Todd Howard and Jason Altman from Bethesda are executive producers. As for the Fallout game series, 2018’s Fallout 76 is the latest entry in the series. Developer Bethesda Game Studios’ next project is Starfield, which releases sometime in the first half of 2023.
