Fortnite Festival Will Exclusively Debut The Weeknd's New "Popular" Music Video

Fortnite Festival, the rhythm mode developed by Harmonix and Epic Games, will debut The Weeknd’s new “Popular” music video. Collaborating with both Madonna and Playboi Carti, the video will be playing in a loop in a dedicated viewing area in Jam Stage made solely for the occasion.

The video will play on repeat from February 15 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET to February 18 at the same time. Epic says that, during this time, it will only be publicly available to watch in Fortnite. In the announcement post, the developer makes a note to creators that any streams or recordings are subject to DMCA regulations. Make sure to turn off OBS before jumping in just in case.

Now Playing: Fortnite x TMNT Cinematic Short

“Popular” will be available to purchase as a track in the Fortnite shop once the music video goes live. This event also marks the last weekend for The Weeknd’s spotlight in Fortnite Festival, with season 1 coming to an end on February 22. Epic is yet to announce which artist or band will be leading the second season.

Fans have been speculating about collabs for the upcoming Fortnite season. Doctor Who’s showrunner has disproved a theory surrounding that show. Taking into account the recently announced collaboration between Disney and Epic, however, it’s possible the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles won’t be the most noteworthy crossover for too long.
