Young Fortnite players might have to take the L to a time limit going forward, should their parents or guardians so choose. That’s because Epic Games has added two new parental controls to the game: time limit and time report.
These new options allow parents and guardians to set daily restrictions on time spent in Fortnite for their children. Additionally, Epic now lets you select only certain time windows for kids to battle it out on the island. For instance, maybe you only want your little one dancing as Mr. Incredible between 3-5 PM during weekdays. That’s possible now.

Epic says Fortnite players will see an in-game notification pop up when they have 30 minutes left of time. On top of that, it’s up to the overseer to grant, but kids can ask for more time in game as well. Spoilers: They almost always will.
For sly Fortnite kiddos, they may think they can circumvent these time limits by playing the game on different devices. However, Epic notes the parental controls will carry over across platforms.
Meanwhile, the time report control offers up weekly reports on hours spent in Fortnite, as well as extra time given. Epic notes these parental options are in addition to previous controls, such as managing voice chat and purchasing new skins.
Looking ahead, Fortnite looks to have three new big-name skins on the way. First up is reportedly Shaquille O’Neal, who teased his in-game model during a DJ set recently. The NBA legend could then be accompanied this month by two horror legends: Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Billy the Puppet from Saw. As for Lego Fortnite, it got a big Lost Isles update last month.
