The best-known game here is Dead Island: Riptide, a fun four-player cooperative game in which teams have to survive the zombie apocalypse by working together to smash infected skulls and carve up a few reanimated corpses. This version of the game sports improved graphics, character models, and lighting effects, and is a compact slice of classic Dead Island action.
Golden Light is an odd survival-horror FPS with rogue-like elements and some dark comedy. You have to descend into the depths of “The Gut” to save your beloved partner. Like we said, it’s weird.
Another bizarre game to try out on this list is BPM: Bullets Per Minute, in which you have to save Asgard from a horde of monsters. The catch here? The more enemies you take out, the faster they seem to reappear as you have to juggle action with the rhythm of a rock-opera soundtrack. Synchronize your movements and attacks to the beat of the soundtrack, and you’ll emerge victorious in BPM’s intense arenas.
In Hands of Necromancy, you’ll become a powerful necromancer seeking to expand your influence and control over the undead in this strategic game, and The Citadel is a challenging FPS that also doubles as a love letter to classic genre games like Doom, Marathon, and Wolfenstein 3D. Lastly, Survive the Nights is a multiplayer survival game where you have to scavenge for resources and rebuild society from scratch, while keeping an eye out for infected creatures in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
