The Halo TV series on Paramount+ is coming back for a second season in 2024, and now the first trailer has arrived. Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) suits up once again to fight against the Covenant. As you can see in the trailer, Season 2 is going big on action as the war escalates.
Season 2 arrives on February 8 through Paramount+ in the US. Season 1 premiered in March 2022, and it didn’t take long for the show to break records and get renewed for a second season.
“John cannot shake the feeling that his war is about to change and risks everything to prove what no one else will believe–that the Covenant are preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humankind’s salvation, or its extinction–the Halo,” reads a line from Season 2’s description (via Variety).
Season 2 marks a big change for the Halo show, as Season 1 showrunners Steven Kane and Kyle Killen dropped out. For Season 2, David Wiener (Flesh and Bone, Fear the Walking Dead) steps into the role of sole showrunner.
For Season 1, the Halo show reportedly cost $10 million per episode, making it one of the more expensive TV shows ever produced. A budget on that level puts it close to Game of Thrones.
Joseph Morgan (The Originals) and Cristina Rodlo (Too Old to Die Young) join the cast for Season 2, playing the roles of James Ackerson and Talia Perez, respectively.
In addition to Schreiber, the returning cast includes Natascha McElhone, Jen Taylor, Bokeem Woodbine, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, and more. If you’re just catching up on the Halo TV show, every episode in Season 1 is streaming for free on YouTube.
