Apparently nothing stops the House of the Dragon train. A new report states that the HBO series will move ahead with filming Season 2 even after Hollywood actors and writers have gone on strike.
According to Variety, sources informed the publication that UK actors–who make up a lot of the cast–can keep shooting House of the Dragon because they have contracts with a local union called Equity. Reportedly, Equity members are prohibited from joining the picket lines with SAG-AFTRA. Hollywood actors officially went on strike today, the group’s first on since 1980.

Now Playing: House Of The Dragon's Cast Breaks Down How Targaryens Differ From Game Of Thrones
Equity issued a statement and advice about the Hollywood actors strike on its website, where it says the union represents 47,000 people. “Equity stands full square behind our sister union in their claim, and the action their board have agreed to take,” the UK union statement says. “Equity too is experiencing bullish engagers attempting to undermine its collectively bargained agreements. SAG-AFTRA has our total solidarity in this fight.”
Afterward, Equity does note that UK law keeps its members from joining in the strike. The union says an actor who does can be fired or sued for breaking their contract without any sort of legal protection.
All of this comes after House of the Dragon continued production after the Writers Guild of America strike in May. At that time, the report stated all the scripts were completed so the HBO series could move forward without issues. House of the Dragon Season 2 is supposed to have more traditional storytelling, per showrunner Ryan Condal.
There is no release date for when House of the Dragon will return on HBO. In the meantime, check out GameSpot’s House of the Dragon review for Season 1.
