For starters, on Xbox, you have to change your console region to New Zealand and your Call of Duty profile region to New Zealand, according to CharlieIntel. For PlayStation users, the process sounds involved enough to simply not be worth the time, as it reportedly requires creating a New Zealand-specific PSN account and then deleting and re-downloading the game for your actual region later on.
Apparently it’s not possible at all, or potentially even more complicated, to try to play Modern Warfare III on PC ahead of time by tricking your PC into believing it’s in New Zealand through a VPN or some other means.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s campaign has been playable since November 2 for people who preorder, and the campaign, based on reviews, leaves a lot to be desired. GameSpot’s Modern Warfare III campaign review scored the game a 5/10.
