Jason Momoa Says There's A Lot Of Badass S*** Coming To DC Projects

Actor Jason Momoa has shared his enthusiasm for the future of the DC Universe, saying that there’s “a lot of badass s**t coming up.”

In a recent into with Men’s Health (via Variety) Momoa discussed his time playing the DC hero Aquaman and commented on the upcoming sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is set to release this year. The actor explained that early on in the production, his own story treatment for the Aquaman sequel was shelved; the publication writing that Momoa said “Warner Bros. bought but did not follow [the treatment] completely. That bugs him and spins him into an impassioned, salty riff.”

Momoa went on to say that he was “absolutely baffled that Aquaman was received so well” when it was released in 2018 and that he’s done projects that no one cares about, adding, “It’s not that I don’t care about Aquaman; it’s a wonderful character.”

“Aquaman is probably the hardest character in comic-book history,” Momoa said. “He’s made fun of and ridiculed, but I tried to give it heart and soul, and I’m proud of it in certain ways. Do I feel pressure for [the sequel] to do well? No. All I can do is give it my all. But it’s in a lot of other people’s hands.”

When talking about the future of the DC Universe, Momoa said that he’s “extremely, extremely excited” and that “a lot of badass s**t is coming up.”

A brand-new Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer was revealed during CinemaCon, which notably didn’t feature a lot of Amber Heard’s Mera.
