Peacock has released a new trailer for The Continental, the upcoming multi-part miniseries that serves as a prequel to the Keanu Reeves movie franchise.
The Continental is a three-part drama series that digs into the history of the “hotel-for-assassins.” The series is set in 1970s New York City and focuses on a young Winston Scott, who is played by Colin Woodell. “Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne,” reads a line from the show’s description. Ian McShane played the adult Winston in the John Wick franchise.
In addition to Woodell as Winston, the series stars Mel Gibson as Cormac, Katie McGrath as The Adjudicator, Nhung Kate as Yen, and Jessica Allain. Ayomide Adegun plays a young version of Charon, the character famously played by the late Lance Reddick in the John Wick series.
The Continental premieres September 22 on Peacock.
As for the John Wick movie series, viewers were led to believe that the franchise would have wrapped up with the momentous events of John Wick Chapter 4. However, Lionsgate later confirmed that John Wick 5 is happening, and it’ll be interesting to see how it comes together. Additionally, a spinoff called Ballerina starring Ana de Armas is in production.
A John Wick AAA video game could also come to market one day.
