Now Playing: Evercade – Legacy of Kain Collection – Trailer
This announcement came as a surprise, as rumors of a Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver I & II Remastered surfaced last month due to a statue spotted at Comic-Con. The series is also getting a prequel graphic novel.
However, the announcement of the Evercade collection doesn’t necessarily mean that the series won’t be coming to other platforms. Last year, developer Crystal Dynamics conducted a closed playtest, but didn’t say for which game. Those who completed a Legacy of Kain survey around the same time received an email from the developer about playtests “for an unspecified new game.”
The last game in the series, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, came out in 2003. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver were released in 1996 and 1999, respectively.
