As part of its Prime Day sale, Amazon is offering 20% off preowned products via Amazon Resale (previously known as Amazon Resale). A bunch of video games and accessories are featured in the catalog, including like-new DualSense Edge controllers. Prime members who add the DualSense Edge to their cart will see the price drop from $173.20 to $138.56 at checkout. That’s quite the deal, and it’s still in stock as of 9:45 AM ET (July 17).
Amazon states the controller “looks and functions as if it were new. Item will come in original packaging.” Your purchase is backed by Amazon’s normal free return policy, so you can send it back if it winds up not being up to your standards.
To get the deal: On the DualSense Edge listing, click the “Save with Used – Like New” box on the listing before adding it to your cart. At the moment, this option defaults to the Amazon Resale offer. You won’t see the discount until after you add it to your cart and start the checkout process. If for some reason the default used listing switches to another vendor, click the “Other sellers on Amazon” section below and check the options to see if the Edge is still being sold by Amazon Resale. It’s possible once the like-new models sell out, controllers with lower grades will be available.
The DualSense Edge is designed to be customized to help give you that metaphorical edge in games, and overall, it’s a high-tech option that feels really nice to handle.
It comes with two pairs of remappable triggers, three different sets of swappable thumbstick caps, a USB-C charging cable, and a lovely carrying case to keep the pricey controller as pristine as possible when not using it. You can set up custom profiles, adjust trigger sensitivity, and program dead zones for the analog sticks. You also get all of the neat features found in the regular DualSense controller, such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
“The DualSense Edge incorporates years of learnings from its competitors to present something that ticks all the right boxes for a good high-end video game controller and even improves the user experience in some key ways,” Tamoor Hussain wrote in GameSpot’s DualSense Edge review. “The end result is a pro controller that is iterative, but also looks and feels premium while bringing a customizability to the PlayStation gaming experience that hasn’t existed before.
The DualSense Edge is tied with the Victrix Pro BFG in the premium category on our list of the best PS5 controllers. Over at Amazon, you can buy the standard Pro BFG for $158 (was $180) or the camouflage blue Call of Duty edition for only $150 (was $200).
Though you lose Sony’s unique DualSense features (most notably, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers), the Pro BFG has its own unique attributes. With its modular design, you can swap the alignment of the analog sticks to be offset or parallel. You can also remove the module on the right side and replace it with a six-button fight pad. It comes with three swappable D-pads, has. four remappable back buttons, and customizable trigger stops. With Victrix’s app, you can customize trigger dead zones and remap inputs.
