Lisey's Story TV Series From JJ Abrams, Stephen King Is In The Works With Julianne Moore And Clive Owen

Apple TV+ has signed yet another major Hollywood production, announcing a new limited series called “Lisey’s Story” which is based on Stephen King’s book. The show has some serious talent behind it. In addition to being based on the writing of one of the most prolific and popular authors in history, the show is produced by entertainment giant JJ Abrams, with Oscar-winner Julianne Moore signed on to star alongside big-name actor Clive Owen.

Lisey’s Story is scheduled to debut this summer on Apple TV+. There will be eight episodes.

Lisey’s Story is described as a “deeply personal thriller” that follows the story of Lisey Landon (Moore) two years after the death of her novelist husband Scott Landon (Owen).

“A series of unsettling events causes Lisey to face memories of her marriage to Scott that she has deliberately blocked out of her mind,” reads a line from the description.

Lisey’s Story also stars Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, and Ron Cephas Jones. The show is directed from Pablo Larrain, who previously directed Natalie Portman in the movie Jackie. Larrain also directed A Fantastic Woman, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions is working on Lisey’s Story as part of his lucrative deal with Warner Bros. And in a move that is very interesting and rare, King himself wrote every episode.

Lisey’s Story is just the latest big get for Apple TV+, as the platform is also working on “The Shrink Next Door” starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, and Kathryn Hahn, while the company also has the show “Hedy Lamarr” starring Gal Gadot, and “Five Days At Memorial” from Oscar-winner John Ridley. What’s more, Apple TV+ has an upcoming show Killers of the Flower Moon from director Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. The streamer also has the Napoleon Bonaparte movie starring Joaquin Phoenix from director Ridley Scott.

In addition to live-action, Apple TV+ recently signed a deal with Skydance Animation for a series of feature films and animated series.
