CI Games has announced that it has made several additions to Lords of the Fallen’s New Game Plus system, as well as other changes. The studio has also revealed that the game has sold over 1 million copies within its first 10 days of release.
According to a Reddit post with details of the game’s latest patch, Lords of the Fallen’s New Game Plus overhaul focuses on Vestiges, which are fast-travel points, and they disappear when a New Game Plus run is started.
From this patch forward, players can go straight into a New Game Plus or replay their current game while retaining their character’s stats, items, and progression, while resetting the entire world, including NPCs and questlines. The latter option allows trophy hunters and completions to clean up tasks without having to deal with the increased difficulty that comes with a regular New Game Plus run.
Additionally, an incoming patch on Ocober 26 will allow players the option to only remove a certain number of Vestiges while keeping key ones intact. In the first New Game Plus, only a few Vestiges will disappear, and a second one will remove even more. On the third run, all Vestiges will disappear except for the ones in the main hub of Skyrest Bridge as well as Adyr.
The studio is also now working on a New Game Plus modifier system where players can fully customize their runs with options such as choosing exactly how many Vestiges to keep. It will also allow for permadeath mode, and item and enemy randomizers.
Lords of the Fallen has sold over 1 million copies worldwide since its launch. It’s available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
