Marvel Boss Says Marvel TV Series Will Slow Down And Space Out To Give Them A Chance To Shine

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has said that future Marvel Disney+ shows will be spaced out to give each of them a chance to shine.

Speaking in a recent Entertainment Weekly interview, Feige discussed the upcoming release of Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, which will kick off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and talked about the decision to explore the Quantum Realm and how he always thought Kang “would be an amazing follow-up to Thanos.”

At one point, the Marvel boss went on to speak on the studio’s foray into television and how Phase 4 opened the gates to new characters and their respective series on Disney+. Feige touched on what he’s learned since releasing the multiple shows and confirmed that future products will have their individual time to shine.

“I do think one of the powerful aspects of being at Marvel Studios is having these films and shows hit the zeitgeist,” Feige said. “It is harder to hit the zeitgeist when there’s so much product out there–and so much ‘content,’ as they say, which is a word that I hate [Laughs].

“But we want Marvel Studios and the MCU projects to really stand out and stand above. So, people will see that as we get further into Phase 5 and 6. The pace at which we’re putting out the Disney+ shows will change so they can each get a chance to shine.”

When asked to clarify if he meant to change the pace of release or the amount of series put out a year, he responded with, “Both, I think.”

It was reported earlier this month that Kevin Feige was almost fired in 2015 before Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger stepped in.
