NetEase has revealed that the closed beta for Marvel Rivals will run from July 23 to August 5.
The closed beta will include all of the content from the game’s most recent closed alpha test, and add both Venom and Adam Warlock to the playable roster. This brings up the number of playable heroes to 21 so far. Players can start signing up for the closed beta on July 20 at 3PM PT on the game’s Steam page. Access to the beta can also be secured through the official Twitch Drop event that starts at 5pm PT on July 25 and continues to 5PM PT on July 28.

The closed beta will also have a special in-game event called Galacta’s quest where players can earn event EXP. Those who complete it will get a closed beta exclusive costume for Venom called Cyan Clash, which can be transferred over to the full game as long as players use the same account.
Marvel Rivals is an Overwatch-style PvP Hero game where players face off against each other with a variety of Marvel characters. Each character fits into one of three distinct roles: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. Vanguards, such as Hulk and Magneto, are tankier characters who able to take big hits, while Duelists like Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man are damage dealers. Strategist characters, such as Loki and Rocket Raccoon, play best in support roles.
Marvel Rivals will also feature cross-platform play between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date for the game has not yet been revealed.
