Metal Gear Solid Cologne Is Real, In Case You Want To Smell Like Tactical Espionage Action

At long last, cloned soldiers of legendary war heroes now have the option of a themed cologne that they can apply in hopefully small doses before they get ejected from a submarine and into the freezing cold waters of the Bering Sea. Numskull Designs has officially unveiled its Metal Gear Solid cologne, possibly the best fragrance that you can use before you fight your twisted brother on top of a broken bipedal nuclear weapons platform after he’s done monologuing. For the gamer who has run out of Xbox, Halo, and Destiny products, this might be the next best thing.

“Experience the thrilling world of espionage and secret operations of the Metal Gear Solid universe with ‘Shadow Moses’, a unisex fragrance that transcends the ordinary,” Numskull’s pitch for the cologne reads. The company says that it was inspired by the game’s legendary setting of Shadow Moses Island, and that this cologne combines the crisp freshness of handpicked mushrooms and forest soil and has been enhanced with “aromatic scents that take you on a sensory journey” to the nuclear weapons disposal facility.

It probably doesn’t smell like FOXDIE, but if you are a black ops operative with an absurd codename–like Cannonball Wallaby–who recently defected and attempted to blackmail the US government, you might want to avoid this.

Pricing isn’t available just yet for the Metal Gear Solid cologne, but Numskull has confirmed that this will be limited to 1,000 units and will be exclusive to UK and European markets.

While the smell of tactical cologne might be out of reach for many, Metal Gear Solid games certainly aren’t. Right now, the first volume of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection is a solid time capsule of Snake’s greatest hits, and a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is currently in development.
