Mortal Kombat 1‘s latest patch is live now, bringing telepathic ninja Ermac to early access players, as well as a huge list of bug fixes and balance tweaks. Here’s what’s new in Mortal Kombat 1’s latest patch.
The patch comes as last year’s Mortal Kombat 1 moves into its fifth season, the Season of Storms. DLC fighter Ermac is the patch’s biggest addition in terms of new content, with the mysterious ninja available now in early access for Kombat Pack players, while his broader release will follow next week on April 23. Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon recently revealed how Ermac originated from an error message, only becoming a playable character after years of player-driven speculation.

Now Playing: Mortal Kombat 1 – Official Ermac DLC Character Gameplay Reveal Trailer
Multiple characters are getting upgrades and fixes as part of the new patch, for the sake of balancing MK1’s growing roster. While some fighters are getting new tricks and attacks for their arsenals, others including Raiden and Peacemaker have had some of their abilities nerfed. Kameo fighters have also seen some bug fixes and tweaks.
The patch also brings a number of general upgrades and bug fixes, including improvements to the game’s AI character behavior and reactions. The new update includes some specific improvements on the PC and the Nintendo Switch, with the PC upgrades also improving MK1’s performance on the SteamDeck.
