NES Classic Contra Gets Reimagining For Switch In Operation Galuga, Coming Next Year

During the September Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced a reimagining of the classic NES game Contra for Nintendo Switch. Contra Operation Galuga is coming to Switch in 2024, with WayForward developing and Konami publishing.

The game has new weapons, enemies, and super attacks, Nintendo said. There is also a four-player co-op mode. Take a closer look for yourself in the trailer below.

The original Contra was released in 1987 for the NES, and the series has seen numerous sequels over the years, including Super Contra, Contra III, Contra: Hard Corps, Contra 4, and other spinoffs. Contra: Rogue Corps was released in 2019 and is the latest entry in the series.
