After announcing that the Grand Theft Auto PS2 trilogy is joining the service this month, Netflix Games has offered a brief look at what subscribers can expect in 2024. Among the announced titles is a sequel to a 2021 indie hit, as well as a retro adventure starring a certain blue hedgehog.
Sonic Mania Plus will join the Netflix Games roster in 2024, as the game makes its mobile debut exclusively with the streaming service. The full console experience–which include every mode, zone, and playable character–will be available through the Netflix app when it launches.
The announcement also revealed Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, a surprise sequel to the 2021 indie hit. The game–whose developer Spry Fox was purchased by Netflix in October 2022–will once again see players become a Spirit Scout as they befriend and help animal apparitions on a haunted island.
Two other games coming to Netflix were included in the announcement: Game Dev Tycoon and Fashionverse. Fashionverse is touted as the “first AI-enhanced, 3D mobile Fashion game featuring inclusive models in photo realistic scenes”, while mobile smash hit Game Dev Tycoon’s new Netflix Edition will let players develop games based on movies and TV properties as part of their studio’s portfolio.
Netflix Games is included with every Netflix subscription, with the selection games available on the standard Netflix app on iOS and Android devices. Games are selected and downloaded through Netflix, and then launched as a separate app.
