Netflix's Resident Evil Show Cast Revealed, Lance Reddick To Play Wesker

It’s a good week to be a Resident Evil fan. Netflix has revealed the cast for the live-action Resident Evil series during Geeked Week. This comes a day after we also got a look at a new clip from Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.

Wesker will be played by none other than Lance Reddick, who you probably know from the John Wick series. A cast photo from the live-action series was also revealed, as Geeked Week announced that the series is now in production.

Aside from Reddick, the show features Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels), Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), Siena Agudong (Upside Down Magic), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Paola Nunez (Bad Boys for Life).

The Resident Evil series was announced back in August 2020 and while it isn’t based on any of the video games, specifically, it will tell a brand-new story told through two timelines. It follows Jade and Billie Wesker, the 14-year-old daughters of Albert Wesker. They live in New Raccoon City, and of course, they find themselves in a bit of danger. The other timeline takes place 16 years in the future where there are only 15 million people left on Earth, as most people have been infected by the T-Virus. During this time, Jade is 30, and still surviving.

“Resident Evil is my favorite game of all time. I’m incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world,” Andrew Dabb, the showrunner, executive producer, and writer, said in a statement. “For every type of Resident Evil fan, including those joining us for the first time, the series will be complete with a lot of old friends, and some things (bloodthirsty, insane things) people have never seen before.”

Season 1 will consist of eight, hour-long episodes. Bronwen Hughes (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) will direct the first two episodes.
