In the 9th century, Baghdad was arguably the center of the world–and one of its most advanced cities. This meant it made a lot of sense for Ubisoft to use it as the main setting for Basim’s adventure in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
But Ubisoft notes in a new trailer for the game (seen below) not much has survived from Baghdad over the succeeding millennium-plus, which makes digital recreation of the lost city tough. That meant tons of research for the team. Ultimately, Ubisoft broke up Baghdad into four major districts–such as business and industrial–within the game. And each hour of the day feels distinct in the vibrant metro, the developer added.

Now Playing: Assassin's Creed Mirage: Recreating A Lost City
Ubisoft previously revealed there is a History of Baghdad mode in Assassin’s Creed Mirage that will urge players to learn more about the lost city. However, the game goes beyond Baghdad and also features different biomes to explore.
The previous making of video for Assassin’s Creed Mirage detailed Basim’s journey and his deadly arsenal. His adventure will apparently be about a third of the length of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. As of July, there are no plans for DLC with Mirage, either.
The release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage actually moved up a week recently. That means the game will arrive October 5 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
