New Borderlands Comic Revealed Ahead Of The Movie's Release

Dark Horse Comics has announced a new Borderlands comic, and GameSpot is pleased to be able to reveal it today as Borderlands: Moxxi’s Mysterious Memento. The four-issue mini-series debuts this November.

It’s written by Amy Chu (Red Sonja, Carmilla: The First Vampire), with its cover and interior art by Mike Norton (Hellboy). Borderlands comics veterans Heather Breckel did the coloring, while Deron Bennet created the lettering for Moxxi’s Mysterious Memento.

Here is the official plot description for Moxxi’s Mysterious Memento:

“Former celebrity and current badass Siren Amara misses the fame and excitement of her glory days. Nowadays, common stooges don’t know who they’re messing with–though they’ll soon find out. In order to reclaim the highs of her former heroics, she needs a gig. Luckily, Moxxi needs help recovering a mysterious artifact!”

Issue #1 releases on November 3 for $4, with the remaining three issues to debut later. The comic was produced in partnership with Gearbox, the creator of the Borderlands franchise.

It’s a busy year for Borderlands, as the long-awaited Borderlands movie debuts this August featuring a star-studded cast led by Cate Blanchett as Lilith. No new entries in the game series have been announced, but Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2 recently leaked.
