The new trailer for Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins has been released. The latest movie in the G.I. Joe franchise hits theaters on July 23.
The new trailer sets up the origins of the iconic ninja warrior, played by Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians). He saves a rich and powerful man from execution and is given a new life–joining the ranks of the crime-fighting ninja team Arashikage to take on the evil shadowy organization Cobra. As with the first trailer, this latest one delivers everything you’d expect–martial arts, sword fights, bike chases, and wild stuntwork, plus some dialogue about fulfilling your destiny. Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins also stars Andrew Koji (Warrior) as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist) as The Baroness, Tahehiro Hira (Giri/Haji) as Kenta, Samara Weaving (Bill and Ted Face the Music) as Scarlett, Iko Uwais (The Raid) as Hard Master, and Haruka Abe (Cruella) as Akiko. It’s directed by Robert Schwentke, who previously helmed the two Divergent movies, Insurgent and Allegiant.
Snake Eyes was introduced into the G.I. Joe toyline in 1982, and is one of the best known characters from the popular multi-media franchise. He was previously played by Ray Park in the earlier G.I. Joe movies The Rise of Cobra (2009) and Retaliation (2013), and has appeared in various animated shows, video games, and comic books.
