New Trailer For The Marvels Shows Captain Marvel Coming To The Rescue In MCU's 33rd Movie

A new trailer for Marvel’s next big movie, The Marvels, has landed just ahead of the movie’s premiere this Friday, November 10. The trailer, said to be the last one before the movie comes out, begins with a sequence where Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury gives a monologue about how heroes are an “old-fashioned notion,” as the video cuts to images of Iron Man and Captain America.

But heroes are still needed, and that’s where Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel comes in. In The Marvels, she teams up with Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) to fight against the evil Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton). The villain has torn a hole in space that causes a different reality to lead into their own. Check out the trailer below.

The Marvels, a sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, is directed by Nia DaCosta. She previously told The Hollywood Reporter how The Marvels will differ from past MCU films with its own and style.

“It’s really wacky, and silly,” the director said. “The worlds we go to in this movie are worlds unlike others you’ve seen in the MCU. Bright worlds that you haven’t seen before.”

The Marvels is the 33rd MCU film, and many have commented on how “superhero fatigue” might be setting in. The Marvels is not expected to make anywhere near as much money as Captain Marvel over its first weekend.

The movie’s stars are not allowed to promote The Marvels due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Warner Bros., meanwhile, delayed Dune: Part II from November to 2024 due in part to the strike, but Disney opted to keep The Marvels on its schedule.
