Nintendo has announced that it will be performing a Nintendo Switch Online playtest for a new feature coming to the service. Sign-ups to participate in the test will begin on October 10 and run until October 15.
The playtest period will last between October 23 and November 5 and those who have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership are eligible to sign up. Applicants must also be at least 18 years of age, and have their Nintendo accounts registered in Japan, United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain.
To sign up, those who are interested need to apply using the “To Application Page” link on the playtest page. Those from Japan will be chosen through a raffle if there are too many applicants from that region, and the ones outside of Japan will be chosen on a first-come-first-serve basis. Nintendo said that the playtest is expected to accept as many as 10,000 participants.
It’s currently unknown what kind of new feature Nintendo is testing out here. Fans have begun speculating possibilities, such as online battling and trading for older Pokemon games, early access, and an achievement system.
