The final announcement of the September Nintendo Direct was a big one. Nintendo announced that Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is headed to Nintendo Switch.
The game was originally released on GameCube in 2004. The new version for Switch has better graphics and other updates, Nintendo said. It’s set for release sometime in 2024. You can check out the announcement trailer below from the Nintendo Direct.
The Thousand-Year Door is a sequel to Paper Mario for Nintendo 64, featuring a visual style meant to evoke hand-drawn art. The game got great reviews, including a 9.2/10 from GameSpot. Super Paper Mario was released for the Wii in 2007, before Paper Mario: The Origami King was released in 2020 for Switch.
