Path Of Exile 2 Launches In Early Access This November

Path of Exile 2, the ARPG sequel from Grinding Gear Games, is finally ready to enter early access. As revealed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live ceremony, Path of Exile 2 will launch November 15.

The news comes after Grinding Gear Games announced earlier this year it was delaying Path of Exile 2’s closed beta, with the developer stating it “underestimated” the amount of time needed to polish the beta build before putting it in front of players. No open-beta test dates have been announced.

The sequel for 2013’s Path of Exile, Path of Exile 2 will look to make many of the first game’s infamously complex systems (like its passive skill tree) more approachable for newcomers. It will feature a new six-act campaign, skill gem system, and 12 classes to choose from. It will also feature a new “dual specialize” feature for its skill tree that allows players to invest different skill points depending on the weapon being used, and automatically swap to those skills when using the designated weapon.

Despite Grinding Gear Games’ focus seemingly being on the sequel, support for the original Path of Exile will continue, with both games set to receive new content.

The free-to-play Diablo-style RPG will support cross-play and cross-progression between platforms, and will also feature splitscreen co-op on consoles. Path of Exile 2 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
