How to watch

3 PM PT6 PM PT11 PM GMT7 AM JST (September 25)8 AM AEST (September 25)

The show will stream live across a variety of sites and sources, including here at GameSpot through the YouTube page below. The event is expected to run for about 30 minutes.

What to expect

In terms of what to expect, Sony didn’t share many specifics in its PlayStation Blog post, instead only teasing that there will be “news and updates on more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games from studios around the world.”

Reported Jeff Grubb of GameSpot sister site Giant Bomb said he doesn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, but he did say he expects the event to focus on third-party projects and remasters.

Rumors and reports circulating recently have suggested that Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn could receive PS5 remasters, and these could be two announcements at the rumored State of Play. Also on tap for reveal could be the leaked Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered collection.

Whatever gets announced, you can be sure GameSpot will bring you all the news as fast as we can. So keep checking back for the latest.

The PlayStation State of Play comes not long after Sony confirmed the PS5 Pro and the 30th Anniversary PS5 console.

A State of Play might not be the only big gaming announcement event on tap for the semi-near future, as some believe Nintendo’s Switch 2 reveal event may be lined up for as soon as this month. There is no genuine evidence of that, however, beyond wishful thinking and Nintendo’s own history of hosting events in September.
