PowerA is launching two new models of its Fusion Pro controller for Xbox consoles and PC. The new Fusion Pro Wireless and Fusion Pro 4 wired gamepads are licensed by Microsoft, and feature Hall Effect thumbsticks and triggers, remappable back buttons, and more. Both controllers have built-in height-adjustable analog sticks. The Fusion Pro Wireless is available to preorder now for $150 at Amazon ahead of its September 24 release, and the Fusion Pro 4 Wired is available now at Amazon for $70.

The prolific accessory manufacturer is making a big push in the pro-style controller market this year. The new Fusion Pro Wireless isn’t the only upcoming wireless controller with customizable features for Xbox.PowerA is also releasing a Fortnite-themed wireless Xbox controller that sports many of the same features as the new Fusion Pro Wireless. You’ll lose out on the Lumectra RGB lighting and unique analog stick customization features, but it’s $50 cheaper than the Fusion Pro Wireless and comes with the Tooth Pickaxe in-game item for Fortnite. You can preorder PowerA’s Fortnite Special-Edition Wireless Controller for Xbox and PC for $100 at Amazon before it launches on October 1.

Meanwhile, Amazon is now shipping PowerA’s new OPS V3 Pro Wireless Controller, which we found to be a very impressive pro-style controller, especially at its $100 price point.

PowerA Fusion Pro Wireless Controller for Xbox and PC

$150

The Fusion Pro Wireless Controller with Lumectra RGB lighting. As the name implies, the Fusion Pro Wireless is a cordless version of the Fusion Pro controller featuring PowerA’s Lumectra “hidden” RGB lighting elements that appear across the controller’s chassis.

Aside from the RGB lights, you’ll find similar features on the Pro Wireless compared to wired models, including the Hall Effect components, dual rumble motors, and four remappable back buttons. It also has PowerA’s new Quick-Twist sticks, which allow you to alter the height of both analog sticks on the fly. You can lock the sticks at three different heights–this feature works well on the OPS V3 Pro.

The Fusion Pro connects to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via the included 2.4GHz USB dongle for low-latency wireless connections and comes with a 10-foot USB-C cable and charging stand for replenishing battery between uses.

The controller syncs with the PowerA HQ app to customize various settings like the Lumectra RGB lighting, analog stick dead zones, rumble intensity, trigger sensitivity, and more.

The Fusion Pro Wireless with Lumectra RGB is available to preorder for $150 and releases next week. If you’re buying one of these new controllers for PC, the OPS V3 Pro Wireless Controller has the same core feature set, including Quick-Twist sticks, as the Fusion Pro. The only notable exclusion would be the RGB lighting effects and Xbox compatibility. As mentioned, the Fortnite Special Edition Wireless Controller for PC and Xbox also has most of the same features, but it doesn’t have the Quick-Twist sticks (or lighting effects).

PowerA Fusion Pro 4 Wired Controller for Xbox

$70

The Fusion Pro 4 is the next iteration of PowerA’s customizable wired controller for Xbox and Windows. On paper, the Fusion Pro 4 is a fairly substantial leap forward versus the Fusion Pro 3. Most notably, the new model comes with Hall Effect triggers and sticks, which also support the Quick-Twist feature that lets you adjust the height of your thumbsticks on the fly.

Other notable features include four remapppable back buttons and a rubberized grip. The controller connects to Xbox Series X|S or PC via an included 10-foot braided USB-C cable, and sports a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It’s worth noting that the Fusion Pro 3 had swappable sticks, which have been replaced by the Quick-Twist sticks. The only potential downside to this change is that you can no longer have different thumbstick cap options. The Pro 3 came with a pair of short sticks with concave caps, and a pair of tall sticks, one concave and one convex. That said, the Quick-Twist sticks in the Fusion Pro 4 utilize Hall Effect technology to prevent stick drift, and you can lock them in three different positions, so overall it should be a positive change.

The Fusion Pro 4 is available now for $70 at Amazon, which is $10 less than the launch price of the Fusion Pro 3.
