After multiple years in early access and releases across all of the other platforms, Cellar Door Games has announced that Rogue Legacy 2 will finally make its way to PlayStation consoles on June 20, which is just in time for the game’s last batch of new content.
The PlayStation version will include all content released for other versions of the game up to this point, as well as Swan Song, which is the game’s final update. Swan Song will add three new Special Game Modes–True Rogue, Thanatophobia, and “Thana-two-phobia”–as well as new Fabled Weapons and a new boss fight.
Rogue Legacy 2 is a roguelite metroidvania-style platformer where players fight through procedurally generated dungeons looking for treasure and gold, which can be spent on permanent upgrades for future runs. Players can choose from multiple classes, including a knight, a mage, a ranger, and a barbarian, each with its own combat style and abilities.
Rogue Legacy 2 first entered early access on Steam in 2020 before launching on Xbox consoles in April 2022. A Nintendo Switch version followed in November. GameSpot’s 9/10 review of the game said it “retains everything that was captivating about the 2015 original while improving upon it with some fantastic new additions.”
Rogue Legacy 2 launches on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on June 20. It is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
