Ryan Reynolds’ journey to bring Deadpool to the big screen had been a long one and now, the possible last Deadpool solo film has officially wrapped. Reynolds took to his Instagram to celebrate the occasion in typical Deadpool fashion.
“The suit hides the blood. Also sweat…but today, with Deadpool wrapping, it’s mostly tears,” Reynolds posted with an attached photo of his crotch. “A giant and forever thanks to the cast and crew of our film who battled wind, rain, strikes, and Hugh Jackman…all under the stalwart leadership of Shawn Levy.”
The actor added that making a movie with his closest friends doesn’t happen often. “See ya July 26th…”. The third installment in the Deadpool franchise was originally slated to release in theaters on May 3 but was delayed, along with dozens of other movies due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year.
This film will make Deadpool’s official entry into the MCU after Disney acquired Fox in 2019. The two previous Deadpool movies, along with the entire X-Men franchise, made almost $8 billion collectively since the first X-Men film in 2000.
