While there are still some technical issues with the first truly open world entry in the series, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is still a great entry in the series and features dozens of new Pokemon to catch, raise, and evolve as you explore a new land influenced by the sunny environments of Spain.
“While Pokemon Legends: Arceus dipped its toes into what an open-world Pokemon game could be, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fully embrace it,” Jake Dekker wrote in GameSpot’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet review. “This new approach to the tried-and-true Pokemon formula reinvigorates the mainline series and delivers one of the most challenging and rewarding Pokemon adventures to date.”
It’s worth noting that this double pack does not contain the two Scarlet and Violet expansions. If you’re eager to play the complete Scarlet and Violet experience, there are physical editions of each game that come with DLC vouchers. However, the Scarlet and Violet bundles cost $95 each, as the expansion pass goes for $35–so you’ll have to pay full price for each.
If you’re feeling nostalgia, the double pack for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes is available for $99 at Walmart.
