Silent Hill creator Keiichirō Toyoma and Bokeh Game Studio’s debut horror game, Slitterhead, will launch on November 8 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The studio announced the release date at this year’s Summer Game Fest in an action-packed trailer focused on the game’s combat. The trailer shows an interesting mix of concepts. It’s set in Japan with supernatural creatures, reminiscent of Ghostwire: Tokyo. However, instead of first-person, Slitterhead is in third-person. You can also possess what seem to be NPCs to fight against supernatural creatures in a similar manner to the Dishonored games.
It appears to play like a third-person action-adventure game where you can swap between different characters on the fly while in combat, similar to the Final Fantasy VII Remake games. There’s also a variety of different physical and magical tools at your disposal, including claws, rifles, and even gatling guns.
Slitterhead was first announced back in 2021. Slitterhead reunites Toyoma with Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, whose most-memorable work may be the Silent Hill 2 music. That game is getting a remake right now from developer Bloober Team, which will be released on PS5 and PC on October 8.
