Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Bug Causes Players To Permanently Lose XP

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor players have discovered a new bug that results in permanently lost XP. Apparently, this is caused by the Mogu, a large troll enemy that can make it impossible to retrieve experience points by sending your lost XP beneath the map.

This comes by way of a Reddit thread (via Eurogamer), where many players discussed the glitch. The Mogu is a tough enemy, and one Redditor said, “Was 3 quarters full on my XP. The ‘player death’ marker says it is 3m below me or something. This bug is annoying.”

Now Playing: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Review – Fear Itself

Another Redditor noted that on the Jedi Grandmaster difficulty, the Mogu can easily take players down in just a couple of swipes, making the bug all the more frustrating. “After hitting this problem twice in the past hour, I was ready to put the game on the back burner until some patches,” another player said.

It’s unclear if Electronic Arts is aware of the XP bug, but this will likely get fixed in a future patch.

While Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has earned positive reviews from critics, it’s not without its issues. On PC, the game launched with a myriad of performance issues–so much so, that EA had to issue a statement acknowledging the game’s condition, while promising a fix soon.

“Survivor builds on Fallen Order in several meaningful ways, tightening up the combat mechanics, expanding the variety of lightsaber styles, alleviating the frustration of platforming and puzzles, and digging into less-mainstream Star Wars lore to tell a fantastic story about a Jedi trying to defeat a tyrannical evil at all costs and coming to the realization that you can’t just fight for good–you have to fight for good in the right way. It’s a superb Star Wars game that gets into the nitty-gritty of the struggle of what it takes for a Jedi Knight to begin the journey toward the rank of Master,” wrote Jordan Ramée in GameSpot’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor review.
