Star Wars TV Show The Acolyte Might Have A Release Date, And It's Soon

The next Star Wars TV series, The Acolyte, will be here relatively soon, if a new report proves to be true. Collider reports that The Acolyte is coming to Disney+ on June 5.

Disney told Collider that it could not confirm or deny the rumored release date, and the site added that it’s possible the date could shift.

The Acolyte hails from Russian Doll showrunner Leslye Headland, and is described as a mystery-thriller taking place at the end of the High Republic era. Specifically, the story takes place about 100 years before the Star Wars prequel movies.

“A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated,” reads a line from the show’s description.

The Acolyte stars Manny Jacinto, Lee Jung-jae, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jodie Turner-Smith, Amandla Stenberg, and Dafne Keen.

Collider also reported that Michael Abels, known for his work on Get Out and Us, is composing the music for The Acolyte.

The Acolyte is not the only new Star Wars series coming this year, as The Bad Batch just came back for its third and final season. The series will wrap up in early May, so if The Acolyte indeed arrives in June, fans won’t have a big gap between Star Wars shows.

As for the Star Wars movie series, the next release is 2026’s The Mandalorian & Grogu. After that will come the new film that brings back Daisy Ridley as Rey.
