Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown Is Ready For Netflix Series To End

Netflix’s Stranger Things made Millie Bobby Brown an instant star, launching the then-13-year-old into global fame and earning two Emmy nominations for her role as Eleven. At 19, she is an award-winning actress, beauty product founder, producer, bestselling author, and the youngest-ever appointed UNICEF Goodwill ambassador. She’s also ready to leave her Stranger Things role behind her.

In an interview with Glamour Magazine, which was conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike began, Brown said that she was prepared to bid her character Eleven goodbye and start carving her own career as she wants.

“When you’re ready, you’re like, ‘All right, let’s do this. Let’s tackle this last senior year. Let’s get out of here,'” the actress said. “Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it’s preventing me from creating stories that I’m passionate about. So I’m ready to say, ‘Thank you and goodbye.'”

For a perspective on how her Stranger Things schedule is, outside of the show Brown has only starred in two Enola Holmes films, also for Netflix, as well as the Godzilla sequels, King of Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong. All in a span of seven years.

The second part of Stranger Things’ fourth season was released last July with production on the fifth and final season–which could take up to a year to shoot–has been pushed to 2024.

“While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike,” series creators Matt and Ross Duffer said back in May. With the WGA strike resolved, the creators of the streaming megahit took to social media to announce, “We’re back.”. However, with the delay, fans will probably have to wait until 2025 to finish the story they began almost a decade ago.
