All Melody Bay Tadpole Music Puzzles in Super Mario RPG
The Super Mario RPG Melody Bay puzzles can be completed by jumping on the tadpoles while they’re in the correct position. The activity itself is located in Tadpole Pond, which you’ll have access to once you get past Midas River. Once you arrive, make your way to the right to see a body of water. You’ll then need to watch as up to eight tadpoles move from left to right, all while pressing the B button to jump at the right time.
Each song puzzle you complete nets you a card from the composer, an NPC named Toadofsky. These cards unlock new items that can be purchased from a vendor in Tadpole Pond.
Melody Bay Song #1: Frog Sage Suite No. 18 (Alto Card)
You can complete the first Melody Bay song puzzle in Super Mario RPG the moment you arrive in Tadpole Pond. The tadpole NPC along the path leading to Melody Bay will even tell you about the particular tune. In any case, you can see the solution in the image below:
Melody Bay Song #2: Moleville Miners’ Song (Tenor Card)
The second Melody Bay song puzzle requires you to progress further in the campaign. Specifically, you must go through Moleville and Moleville Mines. After rescuing the kids in the tunnels, your mine cart will crash back in the village.
Once you’re done with this portion, fast travel back to Tadpole Pond to play another tune. You can see the solution in the image below:
Melody Bay Song #3: Monstro Town Star Song (Soprano Card)
The third and final Melody Bay puzzle in Super Mario RPG involves the starfish NPC in Monstro Town. Once you’ve visited the village, go inside the elder’s house (i.e. the first one to the right), then check upstairs. There, you’ll see a starfish on a shelf. Interact with it to hear a tune.
Once you’ve done that, return to Tadpole Pond/Melody Bay. You can then hop on the tadpoles in the order you see below.
Bear in mind that Toadofsky will ask you to compose your own tune afterward, which means you can jump on the tadpoles as you see fit. This will conclude the entirety of the activity.
Melody Bay puzzle rewards
