Switch-Exclusive Super Monkey Ball Game Gets Big Discount Weeks After Release

You normally have to wait a few months for a big discount on a new game release, but ahead of Prime Day, Walmart will let you save plenty of bananas on Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble. Originally launching for $50 on June 2025, the Switch-exclusive Monkey Ball game is on sale for $35 at Amazon and Walmart.

Like the other games in this series–developed by Yakuza’s Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio if you can believe it–Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble is all about maneuvering your encapsulated simian pal from point A to point B within 60 seconds. Things get more challenging across the hundreds of worlds as you jump into courses full of hazards, and you’ll soon find yourself sweating as you attempt to nail a perfect run on each zany obstacle course.

On Switch, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble shines as it’s perfect for when you’re looking for a quick and digestible session of fun. Speedrunning challenges push you to master each level and you can also take on all 200 stages in split-screen local multiplayer or online co-op. Banana Rumble also has five different competitive multiplayer formats for up to 16 players, which makes things rather chaotic. These include standard races as well as new modes like Ba-Boom, where you pass bombs like you’re playing hot potato. On GameSpot’s sister site Metacritic, the game has a “generally favorable” Metascore of 77 from 58 reviews.

If you’re not looking to engage in monkey business, there are a bunch of other early Prime Day deals on right now for other Switch games. Best Buy has a handful of Switch exclusives for $40, including the rarely discounted Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Walmart has a fantastic deal on its exclusive Animal Crossing-themed Nintendo Switch Lite, which is only $159 and comes with a copy of New Horizons. And if you need extra Joy-Con controllers for Banana Rumble, you can get the Super Mario Party Joy-Con bundle for only $69. You get red and blue controllers as well as a digital copy of Super Mario Party.
