The Division Heartland Gets Extended Gameplay Showcase, Survival Features Detailed

Ubisoft released a six-minute developer deep dive showing off gameplay for The Division Heartland, an all-new free-to-play PvPvE experience set in its The Division universe.

The video offers a first look at Heartland’s survival gameplay, which deviates from what players might be used to in The Division and its sequel. In Heartland, players will need to protect the town of Silver Creek while navigating streets packed with enemies, and enduring the deadly day/night cycle.

The Division Heartland will also feature a class system, including a Weapons Expert, Medic, and Survivalist–each with unique abilities. Ubisoft notes that players will be at an advantage when working together and communicating effectively.

Another mechanic shown off is the dehydration feature, which is frequently present in survival games. In Heartland, players must manage their hydration level by drinking non-contaminated water. Heartland will also offer a shared base of operations, allowing players to prep for missions and socialize with others.

Players can register for the upcoming closed beta for The Division Heartland on PC. In addition, Ubisoft confirmed that there will be more news on the game this summer.

The Division Heartland doesn’t have a release date just yet, but it’s coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in the future.
