The Flash Skin Is Coming To Fortnite Today

If you’re looking for a little extra speed in your favorite battle royale, we’ve got some good news for you. The Flash is coming to Fortnite, and you can get the character very soon. You might even say you can get the character in … an instant.

Players will have a chance to unlock the new superhero skin in the Flash Cup event, which takes place today, February 10. The skin will presumably also be sold separately in Fortnite’s in-game store at a later date. Most other superhero skins have been, or they’ve been available as rewards via a Battle Pass.

Now Playing: Fortnite Zero Point Story Trailer

News that a Flash skin was possibly coming to Fortnite leaked earlier this week, but this is the first that Epic has officially confirmed it. The studio has a history of adding new skins as part of events like this. Back in Season 4, players who participated in the special Marvel Series cups were able to win the characters’ costumes before they were sold in the Item Store. Heroes and villains like Black Cat, Daredevil, and Venom all got their own cups.

Epic had previously dropped some teases that The Flash was on the way to its popular battle royale game. A recent Reality Log video shared on Fortnite’s Twitter account also references a “really, really” fast target, seemingly alluding to the superhero. This isn’t the only one of these videos we’ve seen recently, either. It looks like Tron will make an appearance very soon, as well.

How To Get The Flash Skin

To get the new Flash skin, you’ll need to participate in the Flash Cup event and earn enough points to place highly enough on the leaderboard. In Europe, everyone who places between 1st – 3,500th will earn the Flash Skin and its related back bling. North America, meanwhile, is divided up into two divisions. In NA East, you’ll need to place 1st – 1,750th to earn the skin; in NA West, you’ll need to place 1st – 500th.

As previously mentioned, Epic will likely sell the Flash skin in Fortnite’s Item Shop some time after the event. While no pricing details have been announced yet, previous superhero skins have cost 1,500 V-Bucks (or 2,200 for their bundles), so the Flash skin will presumably cost the same.

Some have pointed to the upcoming release of Zach Snyder’s director’s cut of the 2017 Justice League movie (also known as the Snyder Cut) on March 18 as a possible date for the release of the Flash skin. However, it’s also possible that DC-themed cups will serve as a lead-up to the release of the Snyder Cut, and the Flash is only one of many character skins that will be revealed.

In other Fortnite news, the game’s Valentine’s Day-themed Hearts Wild event is now live. If you need assistance with these week’s challenges, check out our Season 5, Week 10 challenge guide. Fortnite developer Epic Games announced that it currently has no plans to go public with an IPO.
