The Last of Us, which is based on Naughty Dog’s game of the same name, debuted Sunday, January 15, and reached almost 5 million viewers that night. It was HBO’s second-biggest Season 1 debut since 2010, only trailing the Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon. Viewership for the Season 1 premiere of The Last of Us is expected to grow by the millions in the days and weeks to come.

The first season of HBO’s The Last of Us covers the events of the first game, while a potential Season 2 of the show might follow the events of The Last of Us: Part II. The show isn’t expected to run for very long, as co-creator Craig Mazin has said he doesn’t want the series to overstay its welcome.

New episodes of HBO’s The Last of Us air on Sunday evenings, running up to the Season 1 finale on March 12. In addition to Pascal and Ramsey, the series features Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett, Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Luna, and Anna Torv.
