Ellie actress Bella Ramsey shared a similar sentiment. “Giraffes are pretty massive,” she said. “It’s like a spiritual experience almost, being so close to such a magnificent animal.”

Nabo came from an Alberta zoo in Canada. Blue screens were utilized in the giraffe’s enclosure to put the scene together, with Ramsey actually feeding the creature beside Joel actor Pedro Pascal.

For more on the season finale, Pascal discussed the episode and Joel’s choice in another behind-the-scenes video.

As for the future, The Last of Us Season 2 won’t cover all of the events from the video game sequel. It will take more than one season to tell that tale, according to HBO series co-creator Craig Mazin. In addition, co-creator Neil Druckmann has no intentions to change the storyline because of negative criticism to The Last of Us: Part 2.
