After three seasons of The Umbrella Academy, staring down an apocalypse is getting a little old for the Hargreeves family. But heading into the fourth and final season, the Hargreeves are living in another newly created timeline and facing the end of the world again. In the new trailer for The Umbrella Academy Season 4, the Hargreeves reunite to put things right while they still can. But now even they can’t remember what was supposed to happen in the original timeline.
In this version of history, the Hargreeves’ adoptive father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore), is still alive and apparently helping Viktor (Elliot Page) and the rest of his kids figure out how to save themselves. Sir Reginald’s “help” just happens to involve subjecting his children to painful electric shocks.
Ben Hargreeves (Justin H. Min) unknowingly holds the solution to saving the timeline and the world. That’s why Viktor reaches out to him first, and it’s also why the Hargreeves’ enemies are chasing after Ben too. His powers may determine who gets to live or die.
Earlier this month, The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman was accused of workplace misconduct by his co-showrunner and former writers on the show. Once the allegations came out, a report emerged that’s Blackman live-action adaptation of Sony’s Horizon was dropped by Netflix. Those allegations may also hang over the final season of The Umbrella Academy as the cast begins promoting their swan song.
