Some video game movie adaptations are great, while others are so bad that they’re actually brilliant. In this post-Prime Day deal, the gloriously cheesy Resident Evil films are on sale, as you can pick up all six of them for just $56.50. Starring Milla Jovovich, this is a 4K collection of Resident Evil movies that’s full of over-the-top action, ridiculous one-liners, and some surprisingly good practical effects.
Resident Evil Six-Movie Collection — $56.50 ($96)Resident Evil Six-Movie Collection (4K, Steelbook Edition) — $99 ($231)
The first Resident Evil film came out all the way in 2002 and starred Milla Jovovich as Alice, who evolved from an amnesiac survivor and into a killing machine before the end credits rolled. Each Resident Evil movie loosely incorporated ideas, characters, and plot elements from the video game source material, and the film series eventually ended with 2016’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
They wouldn’t be the actual final Resident Evil films, however, as the slightly more authentic Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City released in 2021. If you’re looking for some comfort junk food revolving around flesh-eating bioweapons and the too-damn-many walking dead, you can’t go wrong with the Resident Evil films.
A limited-edition steelbook version of this collection is also available, but in comparison, it’s a lot more expensive. The covers are nice and the slipcase that they’re all housed in bears the Umbrella Corporation logo, but this will cost you $99 (normally $230).
A few other Blu-rays are on sale right now, and if you’re looking to add to your personal cinema library, you can pick up some real gems like the Transformers ($77.50) and Matrix ($38) movie collections. You can also get all five James Bond films starring Daniel Craig for $35, or if you’d prefer some superhero action, there are Batman and Spider-Man 4K Blu-ray deals still available as well.
