TLOU Gets Massive 25GB Patch On PC With Lots Of Fixes And Improvements

Naughty Dog has released a massive 25GB update for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1, with version 1.0.4.0 focusing on optimizing frame rate and performance, while also solving crashing issues.

This is the second patch to be released this month as the developer continues to regularly update the game since its rocky launch on PC last month. Players will be happy to know that alongside a series of fixes to help low performance, improvements to graphical and texture fidelity are also included for those who play with low-to-medium settings. The implemented changes for the low graphics preset have been fixed, and water surfaces should no longer appear black.

The patch has also resolved a number of crashes, including one that would occur when the player would quit to the main menu, sometimes after dying in combat, as well as an issue with long wait times in the loading screen when first booting up the game.

For Steam, the “It Can’t Be For Nothing” achievement should now properly trigger after players reported problems, while the issue on Steam Deck where resetting the Display settings to Default would enable AMD FSR 2, has been fixed. The full list of patch notes can be read below.
