The attempted assassination of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is already having a ripple effect on the media, even outside of major news networks. Given the eerily similar nature of the upcoming finale of The Boys Season 4, it’s possible that the episode could be delayed, though no official word has yet been released.

The episode, titled “Assassination Run,” wraps up the fourth season of the series. The previous episode revealed a plot to assassinate President-Elect Robert Singer, only to replace him with Victoria Neuman, with the outcome of that story expected in the finale. GameSpot has reached out to Prime Video regarding whether the episode will air as planned.
The attempt, which happened during a rally in Pennsylvania, has already caused an airing of an old Simpons episode on the BBC’s Channel 4 to be switched out.
“Lisa the Iconoclast,” the classic episode where Lisa discovers Springfield founder Jebediah Springfield as a conman and thief, while Mayor Quimby and a law enforcement sniper are on a nearby rooftop. The officer is taking aim with a sniper rifle, as Lisa stands at a podium in a rally. It’s all too similar imagery to the recent events.
Instead, the episode was replaced with a much more recent episode from Season 30 about Marge and Homer working together at a tech company that makes self-driving cars.
