Until Dawn Movie In The Works From Annabelle: Creation Director And Writer

The Until Dawn video game, which itself is inspired by movies, is being adapted into a movie of its own. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg will direct the film from a script by Annabelle and The Nun writer Gary Dauberman. Blair Butler, who wrote the vampire movie The Invitation, wrote an earlier draft of the script.

Released in 2015, Until Dawn is a horror game featuring a branching storyline system that allows the game to have a multitude of different story possibilities and endings. It featured Hollywood actors like Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, and Peter Stormare, among others.

The game was written by Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick, taking inspiration from iconic horror and slasher movies. It was developed by Supermassive Games

PlayStation Productions is overseeing the development of the Until Dawn movie. It’s been busy of late adapting PlayStation games for TV and film. PlayStation Productions is also behind HBO’s The Last of Us, the Twisted Metal series for Peacock, and the God of War and Horizon TV shows.

Supermassive Games followed up Until Dawn with other horror games including The Dark Pictures Anthology and most recently, The Quarry.
