Warner Bros. Won't Release Yet Another Finished Movie – Report

Warner Bros. will not release yet another finished film, it appears. Multiple reports claim Warner Bros. is no longer planning to release the adult-themed animated movie Fixed from director Genndy Tartakovsky, but it could still see the light of day.

Before this, Warner Bros. did not release the live-action Batgirl and the animated movie Coyote Vs. Acme, both of which were completed. Those movies were shelved in part for tax write-off purposes as parent company Warner Bros. Discovery looks to turn its business around. The company’s share price is about $7 today, August 9, which is down by 70% over the past five years.

Fixed hails from Sony Pictures Animation, with Warner Bros. originally signed on for distribution. However, the rights have gone back to Sony. Fixed might still be released, as Deadline said Netflix could step up and buy it.

Puck News was first to report that Warner Bros. would not release Fixed. The film studio has not commented publicly on the matter.

Fixed is described as an adult animated comedy that tells the story of a dog named Bull. He discovers he’s about to be neutered, so he embarks on one final adventure to enjoy his final 24 hours “with his balls.” Adam Devine voices Bull, with a cast that also includes Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Bobby Moynihan, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Michelle Buteau, and River Gallo.

Tartakovsky, the director, previously worked on the highly successful Hotel Transylvania animated films for Sony. He’s also known for his work on the Dexter’s Laboratory and Johnny Bravo TV shows.
