Where Is Xur Today? (August 19-23) Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotic Items Guide

Xur has returned for another trip to Destiny 2, making this your last chance during Season of the Haunted to purchase some new Exotic and Legendary weapons and armor. He even has some arc-centric Exotic items that should pair nicely with the upcoming Arc 3.0 overhaul coming in Season 18 on August 23. Here’s where Xur is located this week and everything he’s selling.

This week you can find Xur on Nessus, in the Watcher’s Grave area. For his weapon, Xur is offering Crimson. Hunters can pick up the Gemini Jester boots; Titans can grab the Eternal Warrior helmet; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Crown of Tempests helmet. Xur’s Hawkmoon carries the Hip-Fire Grip perk, while his Dead Man’s Tale packs Vorpal Weapon.

Xur Location

Head to Nessus and use the Watcher’s Grave transmat zone to find Xur this week. When you arrive, hop on your sparrow and head north toward the exit of the area. Look for a big tree with pink moss on the right side of the area. Climb up onto its big, flat branch, where you can reach Xur.

Don’t forget that next week will also have a Destiny 2 showcase to look forward to, where Bungie outlines plans for what players can expect from the game and possibly even a tease of the next expansion, Lightfall.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, the Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Hawkmoon

Xur’s Hawkmoon isn’t a must-have this week unless you want to round out your Exotic collection, as the one on offer has an unexceptional list of perks. Good for shooting from the hip and quickly reloading after using the Paracausal Shot intrinsic trait, but not much else.

Dead Man’s Tale

With a rework coming that’s designed to hammer home the hip-firing cowboy fantasy, Dead Man’s Tale is worth the hefty Glimmer cost this week. Short-Action Stock and Flared Magwell are great perks, but the Vorpal Weapon ability will make Dead Man’s Tale even deadlier when facing bosses and other Guardians.

Crimson (Hand Cannon)

Crimson is unique amongst hand cannons, as it’s essentially a one-handed pulse rifle that can do devastating damage in the right hands. Automatically firing three-round bursts, lining up a few rounds at a critical spot can annihilate regular enemies and leave bosses reeling. The fun doesn’t stop there though, because Crimson’s other party trick is that it’ll refill its magazine with precision kills and heal you.

Gemini Jester (Hunter leg armor)

Just in time for the revamped Arc 3.0 next week, Bungie is offering Gemini Jester leg armor for Hunters. The key perk of this armor is Misdirection, which will disorient enemies after a successful dodge near them. They’re particularly deadly in the Crucible as well, as a well-timed dodge will temporarily remove radar from opposing Guardians, leaving them clueless to your location if they rely on that UI element.

Eternal Warrior (Titan helmet)

Preparing for Arc 3.0 seems to be the running theme this week, and for punch-happy Titans, Eternal Warrior is going to leave a shocking impression from next week. Especially with the high roll of stats that this version has on offer. Designed to add an Overshield to your Titan when they activate Fist of Havoc, the helmet will make you very hard to bring down when other Guardians and enemies desperately try to stop your electric rampage.

Crown of Tempests (Warlock helmet)

Rounding out the Arc 3.0 preparation, Crown of Tempests might look goofy (the stats aren’t anything special either this week) but it’s essential for Warlocks who rely on their abilities more than their guns. With some Arc weapons doing damage, every kill will recharge your abilities in that subclass more quickly and you’ll extend the duration of Stormtrance. If you’re amplified when that subclass adds its new buffs next week, that means longer supers and two chains of them, wiping the floor with any trash mobs that approach you.
